About Udit

Udit Kumar completed his Master’s in Climate Science and Policy from TERI SAS, New Delhi, and Bachelor’s in Chemistry Hons. from Hindu College, University of Delhi. He has been awarded Inspire Fellowship by DST, GOI. He also qualified for the UGC-NET in Environmental Science. His past research and academic involvements include Internship at CFEES, DRDO and NRSC, ISRO.
His doctoral study broadly focuses on reconstructing the past climate over Indian subcontinent.

Past hydroclimate changes on the southern Thar Desert margin

The evolution of the southern Thar Desert margin, which was once densely populated ca. 5000 years ago during the Bronze Age, is unexplored. This project aims to reconstruct high resolution hydroclimate changes across the last 10,000 years using lake sediments from the southern Thar Desert margin.
