Vineetha Vincent completed her bachelor’s degree in physics from Vimala College Thrissur, affiliated with Calicut University and completed a double post-graduation in MSc Space Science and technology from St. Alberts college Kochi, affiliated with Mahatma Gandhi University and MTech in Atmospheric sciences from Cochin University of Science and Technology. As a part of her MTech Dissertation, she worked on the extreme events of northern India and a part of the work got published in the Journal Urban climate as “Revisiting Andhi in northern India: A case study of severe dust-storm over the urban megacity of New Delhi”. She worked as a project scientist at IIT Delhi on the project “Developing a hybrid air quality monitoring network in Indore to support NCAP activity”.
Heat warning for heat waves have been derived from data in the temperate zones. Evidence needs to be examined for the appropriateness of these in areas where components to the relationship between heat and health are different.
